A dynamic philosophy has guided Schazoo Laboratories growth over the years. When Pakistan attained independence in 1947, there was a limited number of pharmaceutical companies in (Late Mian Ghulam Qadir, his two sons Late Mian Shuja-ur-Rehman & Late Mian Zaka-ur-Rehman) were very much aware of this and wanted to make Pakistan self-sufficient in Pharmaceuticals. Mian Zaka-ur-Rehman graduated as a Pharmacist from the 1st batch of Pharmacy department from the University of the Punjab after independence. He was motivated to set up a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Unit by one of his Faculty Member.
The Schazoo Laboratories (Pvt) Ltd was established in 1951 in Lahore, with the vision to provide affordable medicines to the people of Pakistan. Schazoo Laboratories earned good reputation and won the confidence of the Medical Profession and general public at large. The height of this era came in 1968 when according to Information Medical Statistics (IMS),Schazoo Laboratories became the Sixth largest Pharmaceutical Company in United Pakistan.
